Chalkcraft Design, located in Canton Ohio, focuses on designing and delivering custom wooden furniture, toys, and more.  Founder Michael Barchalk has nursed a passion for woodworking since his education at the Columbus College of Art and Design, where he received his BFA in Industrial Design and Arts. . Working in the college woodshop enabled Michael to continue developing his meticulous craftsmanship skill, breadth of knowledge about woodworking techniques and, passion for design.
      Mike has also served as an intern at Little Tikes, where he worked on creating new lines of toys for pre-school kids.  His job included sketching, model making, kid testing, marketing research, competitor’s research, group meetings, and all around a lot of learning from design professionals.   He enjoyed the comraderie he shared at the design office.  His drafting and sketching abilities enable him to quickly create and idea and then straight to the model shop for child safe models. This experience made Michael a very thoughtful and creative product designer.
     In February of 2008, Mike began working for JSL international as a custom wood designer.  With a team of employees, he assisted with and led his own design builds from initial sketches to finished products. While at JSL international Michael work on many high end furniture pieces including “Lebron James: office desk. By February of 2009 Mike invested his time and energy entirely to his own brand, Chalkcraft.
